Ice cream is one of the most popular desserts. We associate them with summer, light-heartedness and relaxation. That is why we are so eager to eat them. What if they need to be disposed of? Probably some of us would like to undertake this task in the privacy of our own home, in front of the TV, with a spoon in hand.
But it is not about such ‘disposal’. Special devices are used for this purpose. One of them has just left the Hydro-Instal company and went to the largest ice cream producer in Poland.
It was a disposal tank for ice cream in various forms (also ice pops The ice cream is placed in a specially designed, removable cage where it is heated to a temperature of about 20°C and melted. The necessary requirement is that the sticks remain in the cage and prevent them from getting into the installation. The thinned ice cream goes to the main part of the tank where it is mixed and then discharged into the treatment plant. About 6 tons of ice cream are processed in this way per day.
The ice cream disposal tank is a single-walled tank made of AISI 304 stainless steel. In order to heat the ice cream on the cylindrical part and the lower bottom, we used pillow-plate heating jackets. The mixing is performed by a paddle stirrer with a drive.
