The nomination was awarded to our company for activities under the project entitled:
Launch of a new product dedicated to specific types of beer and the production of beer from malted and unmalted raw materials as a result of
the implementation of R&D works”
This project is the company’s response to market expectations, filling an existing niche with a new solution.
Nowadays, the requirements in the food and beverage industry are constantly increasing. The intensive development of the brewing industry and the increase in beer consumption in Poland, and in particular of new types of beer, resulted in a beer revolution.
According to the KPMG report in Poland, the innovative trend, which has resulted, among others, in dynamic development of the category of flavoured beers (fruit, honey, etc.) and beer mixes is the key trend on the Polish alcoholic beverages market.
The statistical Polish beer drinker is slowly becoming a conscious and educated consumer, open to innovation, looking for a variety of little-known tastes and sensations.
More and more people are also struggling with the problem of gluten intolerance and are forced to eliminate it from their diet. Such people have limited access to beers, as most beers on the market contain more or less gluten.
In addition, in the times of fashion for healthy eating, which is becoming a growing trend, people are also looking for health-promoting solutions in the drink such as beer.
Therefore, breweries in Poland focus more and more on improving the production process, searching for new flavours, new solutions, alternatives to malt, and working on the quality and shelf life of beers. An indispensable tool to achieve the set goals is to invest in new equipment, new, innovative devices necessary for the beer production.
This trend requires the development and application of a new technology for the production of devices with higher design and quality parameters, adapted to the production of beer from unmalted sources, such as sorghum, barley, quinoa, corn, rice, oats.
A new technology introduced by our company entitled “The launch of a new product dedicated to specific types of beer and the production of beer from malted and unmalted raw materials as a result of the implementation of R&D works” perfectly fits this trend.
Just because of the needs of the market and customers we mainly mobilized our company to develop and apply a new technology for creating beer production equipment from malted and unmalted raw materials.
The innovative product we propose enables the production of specific, unmalted, gluten-free beer with attractive production and sensory parameters, as expected by the consumer.
The main goal of our project was to introduce new and improved products to the market by implementing our own R&D results.
The project is characterized by:
1) Product innovation – we have introduced a new product: H-I beer brewhouse – a set of devices specially adapted to the production of beer with the use of malted and unmalted raw materials, intended for new and modernized breweries with a maximum production of up to 250 hectolitres. The new product of the Hydro-Instal company under the name “H-I beer brewhouse” may consist of the following elements with different configuration and capacity depending on the customer’s needs:
Mash tun,
Mash kettle,
Lauter tun,
Intermediate tank,
Brew kettle,
Sedimentation tun,
Pumps, installations, measuring devices.
2) Product innovation – we have also introduced improvements to the existing beer fermentation and storage tanks, which include: fermentation tanks, lagering tanks and technological installations.
3) Process innovation, based on the implementation of Hydro-Instal’s own R&D results in the form of non-patented technical knowledge, thanks to the implementation of technology for the production of devices dedicated to specific types of beer and the production of beer from malted and unmalted raw materials.
