For one of the customers from the cosmetics industry, we have designed and made a melter made of stainless steel. The melter’s task is to dissolve hard oils that are part of the cosmetic formula and then to homogenize them during mixing. To achieve this, we used an anchor stirrer with wall and bottom scrapers, as well as with a breaker. The stirrer rotations are smoothly adjusted from the control panel in the control cabinet.
In the oil melting process for which a given melter is used, it is necessary to maintain a constant temperature and mix the product. The heating of the medium in the heating jacket is performed by a set of heaters with a capacity of 3x6kW equipped with a temperature sensor. After the medium is heated to the set temperature, the heaters are turned off. If the batch temperature drops by 2 ° C, all heaters are automatically turned on, which prevents the heating water in the jacket from boiling. The batch temperature monitoring is possible thanks to a sensor embedded in the breaker. The tank is filled through the upper hinged cover equipped with an inductive sensor. Opening the cover automatically stops the stirrer.
The entire process is controlled by a control cabinet.
Our melter is a movable tank with a capacity of 150 litre. It is placed on 4 legs with wheels, including 2 swivel ones with the blocking option. It consists of a main tank insulated with 50 mm thick mineral wool covered with an stainless outer jacket. All surfaces having contact with the product are made of AISI 316 steel. The remaining surfaces are made of AISI 304 steel.
